Check out these outstanding bead necklaces the kindergarten students made!
It took a lot of fine motor skills to create these masterpieces. First they used air dry clay to shape the beads, then they used a small wooden dowel to decorate their beads and to put the hole in each bead. When the beads were dry they painted them with watercolor paint and then covered them with a protective varnish. After much anticipation, they were able to sting the beads on a flexible wire to create their necklaces!

I sent home permission slips for our virtual art gallery on Artsonia and some of my responsible students and their families sent them back the very next day! Thank you!!!
To honor these responsible Stratton families, I put a few works of art from Artsonia into an Animoto video for everyone to see! It was fun and easy to make, I hope you enjoy it!
That’s what the fifth graders created using an interactive website from the National Gallery of Art’s Kids’ Zone. According to the site, wallovers are “symmetrical designs painted on a virtual wall.”
This website was a fun way to prepare for an upcoming stamp printing project. We also reviewed important art vocabulary like pattern, repetition, rhythm, and unity.
Here are two beautiful designs the yellow group created from simple lines and dots!

The 2nd grade students have been exploring architecture in art class. Today they learned about Frank Lloyd Wright. Mr. Wright taught us a little bit about what it takes to be an architect.
